I've been quilting since 2013. This blog is my personal quilting diary, that charts my progress (and occasional regression) from the start. I use it so I can look back at my past projects...and hopefully see my skills improve!

EPP, Inspiration and Fun

We had a lovely two weeks on the Celebrity Eclipse.  I took a small envelope containing thread, needles, paper, scissors and some cotton fabric scraps with me.  EPP is perfect for sea days on a cruise.  I've no idea what I will use the flowers and stars for, but I really enjoyed making them.

We visited Malaga, Cannes, Rome, Florence, Pisa, Genoa, Gibralter and Lisbon.

I have discovered that having begun patchwork, I see inspiration everywhere!  Mike and I took hundreds of photos.  I have copied a few below:

Malaga, Spain

Rome

Florence

Pisa

Obidos, Portugal

We had a lovely time, and managed to enjoy a few Mediterranean sunsets.

It was raining when we arrived back in Southampton!

  1. Beautiful architecture and architectural features. There's loads of inspiration all over and one only has to look.

  2. oh that sounds so wonderful!!
A great trip and sewing too.

I had boxes of pre-cut diamonds but darn! I never though of paper piecing them and ended up selling those in my etsy shop. I also sold a large box of larger pre-cut hexies too.
I kept the box of 1 inch hexies for myself.

    1. Thank you Marsha. I seem to have gone paper piecing mad! Maybe it's the repetitive nature of paper piecing, but I find it SO relaxing. I hate having idle hands. I am torn between using them eventually for a grandmother's garden quilt or appliqueing them onto a scrappy quilt. Decisions, decisions!

    1. Thank you, Maria! Next time, I will take more papers with me. I didn't have enough and ended up cutting up the daily programme on the ship! :)
